Certificate of Identity (CI) issuance centers operating across Thailand will be temporarily closed during the upcoming Thingyan holiday period, according to the Labor Attaché Office in Bangkok.

The office announced that all CI issuance centers currently providing services in Thailand will suspend operations from April 13 to April 17, 2026, in observance of the Myanmar traditional Thingyan public holidays.

During this period, all services at the centers will be halted. The Labor Attaché Office also stated that normal operations will resume after the holiday period ends.

The process of issuing Certificates of Identity (CI) to Myanmar migrant workers holding work permits issued by the Thai government has been carried out in Thailand since February 17. This initiative is a joint effort between the labor ministries of Myanmar and Thailand to ensure that these workers can live and work legally in Thailand. The CI issuance is being conducted in Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Surat Thani, Chaing Mai, and Chonburi.

Workers applying for a CI are required to pay a fee of 2,670 baht for the CI booklet at nearby 7-Eleven stores. They must select the name of the CI processing center and the date they wish to apply. After making the payment, they need to visit their chosen center with the receipt issued by the 7-Eleven store to complete the CI process.

Since the application fee is only 2,670 baht, applicants are advised to be cautious to avoid unnecessary additional charges. It has also been announced by the Labor Attaché Office in Bangkok on February 13 that the CI centers will be closed every Monday and on official holidays according to the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok
