NSPNC and UWSA hold informal meeting in Panghsang

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), led by Chairman Lt. Gen. Yar Pyae, held an informal meeting with the United Wa State Army (UWSA) in Panghsang, Wa Self-Administered Region, on June 18, according to a statement issued by the UWSA.

The discussions focused on peace, national unity and regional development.

The meeting was attended by the NSPNC delegation led by Lt. Gen. Yar Pyae, while the UWSA delegation was headed by Vice Chairman and Head of the Foreign Relations Department U Zhao Guoan. Deputy Secretary-General Bao Aik Kham and other officials from the UWSA also participated.

In his welcoming remarks, UWSA Vice Chairman U Zhao Guoan said Wa State is an integral part of the Union and has consistently upheld and safeguarded the Union and ethnic unity. He added that the UWSA has long advocated resolving differences through political dialogue and negotiations and remains committed to promoting lasting peace and stability in the country.
