Kalay-Falam-Hakha Road section repaired after landslide, traffic resumes

At around 7 am on October 1, a landslide caused by continuous rainfall blocked the road between mileposts 25/4 and 26/1 of the Kalay-Falam-Hakha Road. Road Special Group (10) carried out clearance work to restore traffic as quickly as possible and ensure safe passage, and vehicles were able to pass through the section again by the afternoon of the same day.
Deputy Minister for Construction Dr Thaung Naing, who is currently in Chin State to oversee rehabilitation activities, inspected road conditions along the Kalay-Falam-Hakha Road together with members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee.
During the inspection, the deputy minister observed ongoing efforts by officials to repair rain-damaged road sections and clear landslides using manpower and heavy machinery. Director (Civil) U Than Zaw of the Chin State Road Department explained the ongoing work, while Chief Engineer (Civil) U Than Htoo Aung provided additional information. The deputy minister instructed officials to make concerted efforts to ensure that road and transport links are not disrupted and to keep sufficient manpower and machinery on standby so that they can respond promptly to any transportation difficulties.
