President Says Pyin Oo Lwin to Be Developed as “Health City”
· Eleven Media Group Co., LtdPresident U Min Aung Hlaing said the government is implementing policies to develop Pyin Oo Lwin into a “health city” due to its cool climate and pleasant living environment.
He made the remarks during a meeting with local residents and MSME business owners at the city hall in Pyin Oo Lwin on May 16, where regional development issues were discussed.
The president said efforts are underway to improve roads, sanitation, environmental conservation, tourism, agriculture, dairy farming, education, sports, and small businesses in the town. He urged residents to help maintain cleanliness and greenery, saying better environmental conditions would attract more domestic and international tourists.
He also highlighted Pyin Oo Lwin’s reputation for flowers, cherries, dairy products, and seasonal crops, and called for expanded production of local agricultural products and livestock industries. In addition, he stressed the importance of protecting forests, improving water management, and developing waste-to-energy systems.
On education, he said Pyin Oo Lwin should become a model education city, adding that the government plans to gradually increase national education spending in the coming years.
Following the meeting, the president and officials viewed exhibitions of locally produced MSME goods and regional food products.
