Government departments in Falam to restore administrative operations

The teams departed from by vehicle on Tuesday morning and reached Falam in the evening. Local ethnic residents reportedly welcomed the arrival of the convoy.
The assistance mission is intended to support local residents and facilitate the reopening of government offices, schools, and hospitals as part of efforts to restore public administration and essential services in the area.
According to reports, the Myanmar military regained full control of Falam on April 25 after conducting what it described as “counter-terrorism operations” in areas temporarily controlled by insurgent groups. During the period of fighting, many local residents were displaced from their homes, although some have now started returning to their communities.
Authorities are also working to help displaced residents rebuild their livelihoods and safely return to their homes and villages. Reconstruction efforts are planned for government offices, residential buildings, religious structures, schools, and healthcare facilities that were reportedly damaged or destroyed during the conflict.
In addition, military units are continuing mine clearance operations in urban and rural areas to remove landmine threats allegedly left behind by insurgent groups, while security measures in and around Falam are also being strengthened.
The military and local residents are expected to cooperate in repairing damaged schools, hospitals, clinics, government buildings, religious sites, and homes as quickly as possible, while security operations will continue in the region, reports said.
