UWSA sends congratulatory message to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on presidency, reaffirms commitment to Union
· Eleven Media Group Co., LtdThe United Wa State Army (UWSA) has sent a message of congratulations to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing following his election as President of Myanmar, according to an official statement.
In the message, the UWSA, along with the central committee of the Wa State Solidarity Party, the Wa State Government, and residents of Wa State, expressed their sincere congratulations on his appointment as head of state.
The group stated that during his tenure as Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing had carried out his responsibilities effectively, contributing to national stability, public security, peace, and socio-economic development. These efforts, it said, resulted in notable achievements worthy of recognition.
The UWSA also reaffirmed that Wa State remains an inseparable part of the Union of Myanmar and firmly opposes any attempt to secede or declare independence. It emphasized its commitment to pursuing a path of peaceful development, promoting ethnic equality and unity, and improving the livelihoods of people in the region while maintaining stability along border areas.
Furthermore, the group said it would continue to cooperate and coordinate with the Union government under the framework of the country, and would seek to realize its political goals through peaceful dialogue and negotiation. It added that it aims to contribute to building lasting peace and sustainable development in Myanmar.
The UWSA also expressed confidence that under the President’s leadership, the country would achieve peace, stability, national unity, rapid development, and prosperity for all ethnic communities.
