A teenage female employee has died at the Peter Cocktail bar in Pyidawtha Ward, Taunggyi, according to local residents.

The victim, identified as 16-year-old Ma Phoo Pwint Wai from Nyaungshwe, was found dead with injuries. Authorities said a post-mortem examination is being conducted at Sao San Tun Hospital to determine whether her death was natural or the result of violence.

Ward officials confirmed that the girl had sustained injuries and that her death was not considered normal. A local administrator said the true nature of the case only became clear after initial death registration procedures had already been carried out.

According to local media reports, the bar owner, Aung Myo Thu (also known as Peter), allegedly assaulted the girl after accusing her of failing to inform him that a customer had given her a tip. She reportedly died from the injuries sustained during the abuse. The suspect has fled, and authorities are attempting to locate and arrest him.

When contacted by Eleven Media, Taunggyi Myoma Police Station said it was not yet able to provide further details on the case.
