The Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has announced that it will begin processing and issuing recommendation letters for Myanmar workers in Malaysia who wish to return to Myanmar on leave, starting from May 1.

According to a statement released on April 29, the embassy will verify employer-issued leave permission letters and provide official endorsements. The move follows a directive issued on April 28 by the Department of Labour under Myanmar’s Ministry of Labour.

The embassy stated that applications will be accepted on working days beginning May 1.

Workers seeking recommendation letters must submit the required documents, including a copy of their passport (with visa page), a copy of the front and back of the OWIC card, a valid work permit copy, the original employer-issued leave letter specifying the type and duration of leave, and a copy of their national registration card (front and back).

Applicants are required to apply at least 10 working days in advance of their planned return to Myanmar, excluding weekends. The embassy also clarified that QR code applications are not required for this process.

Applications must be submitted in person by the worker at Counter No. 31 of the consular section of the embassy.
