Relief supplies distributed to returning residents in Falam Township, Chin State

A distribution ceremony was held at the Falam Town Hall on July 9 for people who had returned after being displaced by conflict.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint, members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, religious leaders, pastors, local community representatives, returning residents, and officials from relevant government departments.
Speaking at the ceremony, the deputy minister said the assistance was intended to help restore normal daily life for families affected by terrorist-related violence. Each returning household received relief packages containing 16 essential household items, along with food supplies, as part of the government's support program.
He added that the government would continue providing assistance to other displaced residents as they return to their communities.
After that, relief materials were provided to 200 households and the people who had returned to their homes.
In addition, the Deputy Minister and his team inspected the condition of the Hakha-Falam road, inspected the roads and bridges damaged by the violence, and said that necessary repairs and maintenance should be carried out on a priority basis to ensure smooth travel. He said special attention has to pay to preventing water from accumulating on the road during the rainy season. Since it is a mountainous road, officials at all levels should be organized in advance and monitored to prevent landslides and road disruptions during the rainy season.
