Yangon Region Chief Minister calls for round-the-clock inspections of unlicensed vehicles

The Yangon Region Chief Minister made the remarks at a coordination meeting on fuel conservation and security in Yangon Region held on March 11.
At the meeting, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein called for fuel to be distributed correctly to petrol stations and for fuel supplies to arrive on time across the region. He also urged the formation of multi-team inspection groups to prevent the illegal storage and trading of fuel, ensure that even- and odd-numbered vehicles refuel and operate systematically on designated days, and carry out inspections and enforcement against illegal and unlicensed vehicles, including during nighttime hours.
The meeting was attended by members of the Yangon Region Government, heads of departments and officials, and the Yangon Region Petroleum Products Regulatory Department, Director U Maung Maung Soe explained fuel issues, and the attendees discussed and made suggestions regarding fuel issues in Yangon Region.
