U Myo Myint, Chairman of the Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association (YGEA), said that dishonest people are spreading rumors and destabilizing the gold prices.

Chairman U Myo Myint made the statement at the opening ceremony of the 27th Awareness Training on Combating Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism held on December 12.

“Many traders trade honestly, but a group of dishonest people spread rumors and conduct these transactions, which has led to unstable gold prices. That is why the YGEA is issuing a statement regarding the rumors and false information,” he said.

Gold sales will be restricted to the reference price of 16.329325 grams per tical and must comply with the regulations and provisions of the gold license, the association said.
