UEC announces names of 15 FPTP winning candidates in Phase one elections across 102 Townships

The Union Election Commission (UEC) announced on January 2 the names of 15 first-past-the-post (FPTP) representatives who won seats in the Amyothar Hluttaw or Region or State Hluttaw across 102 townships where Phase One of the election was held.

According to the UEC, the multi-party democracy general election has been conducted in phases since December 28, 2025.

 In line with Section 41(a) of the Amyothar Hluttaw Election Law, the Shan State Sub-Commission declared that U M Zaw Latt of the Wa National Party was elected as a member of parliament for the Shan State Amyotha Hluttaw constituency (1) under the (FTPT) system.

Similarly, the UEC said that relevant region and state sub-commissions have announced the names of elected representatives to the Region or State Hluttaws in accordance with Section 41(a) of the respective election laws. These announcements cover constituencies where elections were held under the first-past-the-post system during the phased polls that began on December 28, 2025.

Based on the official results, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) won 14 seats in 15 Region or State Hluttaw constituencies, while the Akha National Development Party secured one seat.
