Factory in-charge, manager and Chinese expert abducted by armed group at Honda Myanmar Plywood Factory in Mudon Township

The factory manager of Honda Myanmar plywood factory in Kyaikrae village, Mudon township, Mon State, along with a Chinese expert and factory in-charge were reportedly abducted by an armed group on November 6, according to sources close to the factory. 

Around 2:00 pm, approximately 20 armed individuals entered the factory compound, fired four gunshots, and demanded to speak with the factory "boss" in the Mon language, eyewitnesses stated.

The abducted individuals, identified as factory manager U Tin Tun Aung and a Chinese scholar and factory in-charge U  Bobo, were taken from the site and reportedly transported Letkhat hill from Tawku village  according to local sources. In addition to the abduction, the armed group seized around 20 mobile phones from factory employees.

Authorities have yet to confirm which armed organization is responsible, and security forces are actively conducting a manhunt to secure the release of those abducted.
