Jen Shah Is Out of Prison

Shah, a former cast member of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, served two years, nine months, and 23 days in federal prison for her part in a nationwide telemarketing scheme that preyed on the elderly. She is now either at home in confinement or at a halfway house — the Bureau of Prisons does not confirm which for privacy reasons.
Shah pleaded guilty to money laundering in July 2022 and was originally sentenced to six and a half years in prison, which she managed to serve less than half of. Her sentence was reduced due to good behavior, participation in prison programming (including her Shah-mazing abs class, which her fellow inmate Elizabeth Holmes attended), and the financial payments she has begun making to victims, per People. In total, she was ordered to pay $6.5 million to the victims of her crimes.
Now that she’s out, the real question is if that restitution will be funded by a return to RHOSLC — one of the crown jewels of modern Bravo programming. “She’s not coming back to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” RHOSLC producer Andy Cohen said on his radio show on December 2, in anticipation of Shah’s release. “She’s not. I wish her all the best in her next life. I would assume she’ll wind up on a reality show of some kind, but it won’t be anything I’m working on.” Bravo chairman Frances Berwick was a little softer on Shah in a Variety interview post-BravoCon, saying what mattered to her was if the former Housewife showed “accountability,” adding, “I have no idea on the level of accountability [Shah shows].” Well, she did plead guilty …
