Vucic addresses UN General Assembly tonight

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic will address the participants at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, starting around 16:00 hours local time, 22:00 hours our (CET) time.

President Vucic will be the fifth speaker in the afternoon session, preceded by presidents of Poland, Namibia, Slovakia, and Kenya.

During his stay in New York, Vucic had bilateral meetings with numerous world leaders and representatives of the international community.

Vucic said that in his upcoming speech at the UN General Assembly, as always, he will point out the position of Serbia, which is "on the European (EU) path, but also belongs, according to various parameters, to the global south, and is close to African and Asian countries."

"I want to speak about our position, but also about all the deception we went through in the previous, not 15, but 30 and 35 years, about false principles, hypocrisy, double morality standards, about how they explained to us that it was necessary to extradite our people to the Hague Tribunal (ICTY), and then honey and milk would flow and flowers would bloom. Then we delivered them, pretty much tied up in sacks, and we got nothing in return. We signed numerous agreements and every agreement we signed was violated by those who were the guarantors of it, not only by some other side in the region," Vucic said.

According to him, there will be a lot to say, that people will recognize and understand in today's world.

Yesterday Vucic met with the EU high representative, Kaja Kallas, and in that conversation, he said he insisted on "the norms from the Brussels Agreement" being fulfilled, above all regarding the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) in Kosovo and Metohija.
