Keonjhar: Forest department officials on Monday rescued 28 wild boars, which had fallen into an abandoned in a farmland near Bhagamunda village under Sadar forest range in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

According to sources, a JCB was used to dig the well and rescue the boars safely. However, 27 wild boars could be saved as one of them died while being stuck in the abandoned well.

It is being suspected that the boars strayed into the village to feed on the paddy last night but fell into the well since it was pitch dark there. “Luckily, there is no water in the well,” a local informed.
