SIR Draft Roll 2025 LIVE Updates: What is SIR electoral draft roll? When will the final rolls be published for West Bengal, Rajasthan, Goa, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep?

The electoral rolls draft after the Special intensive revision will be published by the Election Commission of India today for 3 states and 2 Union Territorries. The door-to-door enumeration method was used to prepare fresh electoral rolls during a comprehensive revision exercise till December 11. In this process, enumerators visited every household without referring to existing voter lists and record the names of individuals who are eligible to vote as on the notified qualifying date.

The exercise helped the Election Commission of India (ECI) determine inaccuracies in the existing electoral rolls. It is an exhaustive verification and updating drive aimed at ensuring that every eligible voter is included in the rolls while excluding those who are no longer entitled to be listed.

As part of this process, Booth Level Officers carry out door-to-door visits to verify voter details, identify new eligible voters, and remove entries relating to duplicate records, deceased individuals, or those who have relocated. The revision is conducted independently of previously published electoral rolls.

For online submission of forms, linking a mobile number with the EPIC is mandatory. The initiative is intended to enhance the transparency and reliability of electoral rolls ahead of Assembly elections in West Bengal and other states, with the objective of ensuring inclusive and fraud-free elections.

The draft rolls is the one published by the ECI for voters to check if their names have been recorded. This is important because it will determine the voting status of a person. If the name is not there, a voter can appeal and seek correction of the rolls. The appeals will have to be made within a set period, after which the final electoral rolls will be published.

For the West Bengal, Rajasthan, Goa, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep the final rolls will be published on February 14, 2026.
