You are under a bail bond, don’t disrupt our father’s funeral – Adwoa Safo warns brother
by Miss Naa · MyNewsGh.comFormer Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo has warned her brother, Israel Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena ahead of the funeral of against disrupting the funeral and burial rites of their late father, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
She strongly told asked him to stay put, warning that any attempt to disrupt the funeral would violate the conditions of a bail bond requiring him to maintain good behaviour.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Adwoa Safo said her brother and those associated with him should refrain from causing disturbances during the funeral activities, which she said have been approved by the Manhyia Palace.
“I want to remind him and his thugs that they are under a bail bond, and that bond is to be of good behaviour,” she said.
Adwoa Safo warned that any attempt to interfere with events scheduled for the burial would amount to a breach of that undertaking.
“If they have any intention of coming there, or Independence Square on the 31st, or 8th of August in Kumasi, Prempeh Assembly Hall, to cause any mayhem, he should be reminded that he is under bond to be of good behaviour,” she stated.
She disclosed that security agencies had been notified and asked to provide personnel to ensure the funeral and related activities proceed without disruption.
“We have informed all the law enforcement agencies to provide us with the number of security men they can so that he and his thugs cannot come and shoot at me again, and this time, maybe God might not save me again,” Adwoa Safo said.
According to the former legislator, the burial arrangements for the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana have received approval from the Manhyia Palace and are scheduled to take place at Gomoa Mpota on Thursday, July 30.
Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and a renowned Ghanaian inventor and industrialist, died after decades of leadership in the church and contributions to indigenous technology and manufacturing.
