2 Nigerian Nationals Arrested Over Murder of Compatriot in Tamale
by Gabs · MyNewsGh.comThe Northern Regional Police Command has arrested two Nigerian nationals, Daniel Victor Eze and David Oko Ewa, in connection with the murder of 36-year-old Nkemujika Uzorchuku Eze in Tamale.
The body of the deceased was found in a pool of blood in his bedroom at Sanzirigu on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The Police in statement issued on Sunday said he had a deep cut to the forehead and a towel stuffed in his mouth. His room had also been ransacked.
According to police, the deceased lived in a three-bedroom apartment with his wife, the two suspects, and another Nigerian, Godwin Nwafor.
Following intelligence-led operations, the two suspects were intercepted at Tatale on the same day while allegedly attempting to flee to Togo. They were handed over to the Tamale District CID.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted to conspiring to kill the deceased over a dispute involving proceeds from alleged internet fraud activities.
A search led to the recovery of several items suspected to have been stolen, including mobile phones, laptops, a tablet, jewellery, and personal documents. The Police say the items have been retained as exhibits.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The Police statement disclosed that suspects are in custody and are expected to be arraigned before court on Monday, July 13, 2026.
The Northern Regional Police Command added investigations, including forensic analysis and retrieval of CCTV footage, are ongoing. It has assured the public of its commitment to bringing all those involved to justice.
