Serious crash in Waikato

One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Waikato.

Police were called to State Highway 2, Mangatarara at 6.30 am Sunday.

A second person was reportedly moderately injured.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area, with diversions in place at the intersection of SH2 and SH25 to the north, and SH2 and SH27 to the south.
