Police investigate after overnight armed robbery in Lake Macquarie

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Lake Macquarie location on Thursday night where an employee was threatened with a knife.

Lake Macquarie police officers were told that three unknown people went into a Gateshead premises at about 5.30pm on Thursday April 9.

Police said the trio stole alcohol before threatening a 25-year-old male employee with a knife.

The group then fled the scene and there were no reports of injuries.

Officers have established a crime scene and began inquiries into the incident.
