Pedestrian dies after collision in Westport

A pedestrian involved in a collision in Westport last week has died, police have confirmed.

He was 79-year-old Barry Kevin Shand, of Westport.

The crash in Derby St on June 9 also involved a car. 

In a statement this morning, police said Shand was transported to hospital in a serious condition and died there on June 12.

"Our thoughts are with his loved-ones at this difficult time."

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were continuing.
