Three taken to hospital after Canterbury crash

Three people were taken to Christchurch Hospital after a crash near Rangiora on Tuesday.

Police said they were called to the two-vehicle crash on State Highway 71 at the intersection with Fernside and Power Rds in Flaxton about 5.30pm.

A person was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition, while the other two injured people were in a moderate condition.

Hato Hone St John responded with three ambulances and treated three people at the scene.

The road was reopened about 7pm.
