Concerns for welfare of missing teen

Police want the public’s help to find a missing teenager who may have travelled to Christchurch.

Matiu was reported missing from the Lower Hutt area in Wellington.

The 16-year-old was last seen near Heather Grove in Fairfield,  Lower Hutt, about 8pm on Wednesday, June 10.

"Police and Matiu’s family have concerns for his welfare and would like to find him as soon as possible," police said in a statement.

"It is believed he may be attempting to travel to Christchurch, however, could still be in the wider Wellington area.

"If you have seen Matiu, or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact 105 and reference file number 260611/8462."
