Nolte: Rob Reiner and Wife Had Throats Slit By Family Member, Report Says
by John Nolte · BreitbartAccording to reports, authorities now believe Rob Reiner and Michelle, his wife of 36 years, had their throats slit by a family member.
As previously reported, Reiner (78) and his wife (68) were found murdered in their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday afternoon. Reiner, a legendary Hollywood director behind a string of feature film hits in the ‘80s and early 90s, and his wife, a professional photographer, were reportedly stabbed to death. Rumors surrounding the questioning of Reiner’s three grown children in relation to the deaths can be found everywhere.
People Magazine has already singled out Reiner’s 32-year-old son Nick as a person of interest. Nick has had a long and admitted history of substance abuse problems. He even co-wrote Being Charlie (2016), a movie about those issues and his strained relationship with his father, which his father directed.
The latest news, first reported by TMZ, is beyond grisly…
“Rob Reiner and his wife Michele had their throats slit by a family member, possibly after an argument inside their Los Angeles home, leading to their tragic deaths,” writes TMZ. “ It’s unclear what exactly triggered the violence, which went down Sunday afternoon in Brentwood … but we’re told one of Rob’s daughters found her parents dead and told police a family member had killed them.”
“People reports the couple’s son, Nick, is being questioned in connection with the murders.”
A source also told TMZ that the daughter (Reiner has another daughter from his marriage to the late Penny Marshall) who found the slain Reiners told police to focus on a family member who “should be a suspect” because this person is “dangerous.”
Thus far, police have not confirmed or denied anything beyond saying the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not even confirmed the victims were Rob and Michelle Reiner. That confirmation came from the Reiner family.
“LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton told reporters at a chaotic press conference last night that no arrests had been made, but confirmed that investigators were interviewing family members,” reports the New York Post.
“We’re going to try to speak to every family member that we can to get to the facts of this investigation,” Hamilton added.
At this point, while authorities interview family members, there does not appear to be a search for or any news of a possible suspect on the loose.
