Exclusive: Cabinet Officials Commend Work of Presidential Personnel Office Under Dan Scavino

by · Breitbart

Cabinet officials are commending the work of the Presidential Personnel Office (PPO)—which vets and selects thousands of candidates for political appointments—under the leadership of its director, Dan Scavino.

President Donald Trump’s administration has more than 3,500 political appointees serving in the federal government, and the PPO is critical in finding, vetting, and helping to appoint these federal employees.

Scavino, who also serves as White House deputy chief of staff, has headed up the office since last October. His work, along with that of his deputy Morgan DeWitt, is drawing praise from top officials across the administration.

“For decades, Dan Scavino has been one of the most dedicated and loyal staffers to President Trump,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement to Breitbart News. “Under his leadership, the White House PPO team with his deputy Morgan DeWitt have been outstanding partners, and we are grateful for their support in staffing the Department of the Treasury and their tireless work on behalf of the American people.”

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said that Scavino and DeWitt have assembled the best PPO team in White House history.

“President Trump has often said his most important lesson learned from his first term was running a better personnel process. So of course he tapped 2 of the most loyal, smart and talented people on the field. I believe Dan and Morgan have built the best PPO team the White House has ever had,” she told Breitbart News in a statement. “They are an absolute joy to work with, respond to requests within minutes, work 24/7, and always with a happy warrior attitude. ”

She pointed to one example of rapid approval for hiring an expert amid the screwworm outbreak to underscore the efficiency with which the office has worked.

“A few months ago, when the screwworm outbreak forced us to bring in an outside expert, I called PPO at 6 p.m. on a Saturday. By 10 a.m. Sunday, the hire was approved. Nobody moves faster,” she shared.

U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer also spoke to the PPO’s efficiency under its director.

“I have known Dan Scavino for a long time. He is a patriot and trusted by me and those who work with him,” Greer said. “Dan and his team at the Presidential Personnel Office have been effective, timely, and extremely supportive as we execute the President’s ambitious trade agenda.”

The PPO oversaw the fastest confirmation ever of a cabinet secretary in March when Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin was confirmed in a 54-45 vote, and in recent months, two more key nominees, Attorney General Todd Blanche and Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, were confirmed to their respective posts in under a two-month period. PPO also worked in tandem with the Department of Justice to establish the position of Assistant Attorney General for the National Fraud Enforcement Division, which is held by Colin McDonald.

“The White House PPO team has some of the toughest jobs in the administration, and Dan and Morgan have made it look easy,” Mullin said in an exclusive statement. “They’ve been responsive, efficient, and helped staff the Department of Homeland Security with well-qualified patriots. I’ve enjoyed working with them, and am grateful for their service.”

Like Rollins, Blanche said the PPO under the leadership of Scavino and DeWitt is unrivaled, and that they deliver rock-star employees to the Department of Justice,

“Dan Scavino and Morgan DeWitt are incredible to work with and always efficiently deliver on exactly what my Department needs. Rock stars who make sure we have the best people working for POTUS and the American people,” Blanche said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News. “There is no better personnel operation anywhere than White House PPO under Dan and Morgan’s leadership.”

Another top law enforcement official, FBI Director Kash Patel, commended the PPO, saying the FBI has “greatly benefited” from their efforts.

“Dan Scavino and Morgan Dewitt are two of the most loyal, hardworking, and effective aides President Trump has ever had – from personal experience I can attest the FBI has greatly benefited from their outstanding Presidential Personnel team and nonstop work, responsiveness, and counsel in our 24/7 mission to deliver results for the American people,” Patel said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News. “Attacks on their work are baseless and false.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke glowingly of the State Department’s relationship with the PPO.

“Dan Scavino and the entire Presidential Personnel Office team have been outstanding partners, a pleasure to work with, and have done an exceptional job recruiting America First patriots at the State Department who are advancing President Trump’s foreign policy agenda,” Rubio told Breitbart News in a statement. “No one is more loyal, professional, and dedicated than Dan Scavino.”

Some of Trump’s other top cabinet secretaries commended the PPO’s work as well.

“The Presidential Personnel Office is a great partner for HUD’s success since day one. They have facilitated the hiring of our incredible team who are focused on executing the President’s agenda,” Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News.

“I know what it takes to make a great team. The PPO leadership are dedicated patriots who work tirelessly to serve our great country,” he added.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said the PPO under Scavino “is an outstanding partner.”

“PPO is an outstanding partner under Dan Scavino’s leadership. Dan personally, and his team are always responsive, professional, and very thoughtful as they conduct their important approval processes,” Burgum said in a statement to Breitbart News. “Dan and his deputy, Morgan DeWitt, have been invaluable in helping us build an exceptional team at Interior.”

“We’re deeply grateful for their partnership in bringing together talented, dedicated people committed to delivering for President Trump and the American people,” he added.

Small Business Administration chief Kelly Loeffler said the PPO’s appointment and hiring process has had a key hand in righting the “economic disaster” under former President Joe Biden.

“Under Dan Scavino’s leadership, the Trump PPO has worked tirelessly to appoint a record number of public servants to deliver on the America First agenda,” Loeffler said. “This historic achievement and Dan’s relentless work ethic is a major reason the Trump Administration is succeeding at turning around the Biden economic disaster, dismantling the deep state, gutting the bureaucracy, and transforming the federal government to make it more efficient, accountable, and effective than ever before.”

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said PPO has contributed to onboarding employees at HHS who have helped deliver on Trump’s priorities.

“PPO has worked closely with me and my team to bring in talented, hardworking leaders who are helping HHS deliver on President Trump’s priorities and serve the American people,” Kennedy Jr. told Breitbart News via a statement.

Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth have also lauded the PPO under Scavino.

“President Trump sets an exceptionally high bar for those entrusted to serve the American people,” Sonderling said “I have the privilege of working with the White House Office of Presidential Personnel every single day. Unlike others, I get to see firsthand the extraordinary dedication of this team under Dan Scavino’s leadership.”

“The exceptional caliber of this Administration’s political appointees and its continued historic accomplishments are a direct reflection of the tireless work of Dan, Morgan Snow, and the entire PPO team to ensure every candidate is highly qualified, thoroughly vetted, committed to the highest ethical standards, and the President’s agenda,” he added. “Having served under President Trump in both of his Administrations, I know there is no one more trusted or qualified than Dan and his team to lead these efforts.”

Hegseth expressed his deep appreciation of Scavino in an exclusive statement.

“I could not be more appreciative of the outstanding partnership and leadership Dan Scavino and the PPO team demonstrate every single day,” he said. “They consistently go above and beyond for President Trump and the Department of War. He undoubtedly has the thanks of a grateful nation and we stand with him completely.”

Scavino and DeWitt have overseen the confirmations of 52 ambassadors since heading up the office, while another 30 have been nominated and 30 more future nominees are working on their paperwork, according to a White House official, marking 112 total ambassadors, or potentially future ambassadors.

Two new members of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors have been confirmed since the start of the second Trump administration, including Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, who was confirmed in May.

The president and the PPO, as a White House official notes, have selected a new director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Erica Swchartz, who was confirmed earlier this month; a nominee for Surgeon General, Dr. Nicole Saphier; a nominee for Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust, Adam Candeub; and a nominee for Food and Drug Administration Commissioner, Heidi Overton.

In July, five nominees to the International Trade Commission were confirmed in the first unanimous-consent vote of the 119th Congress. Of the U.S. attorney positions in 93 districts, 91 have an individual who is identified to serve under the leadership of the PPO, according to a White House official. Moreover, the PPO has appointed seven appointees to the Commission of Fine Arts, which approved the president’s White House ballroom project.

The PPO has seen a total of 591 civilian nominees confirmed by the 119th Congress since the start of the Trump administration, and 375 civilian, non-judicial nominees have been confirmed through five bulk slates.
