Born Pascal Okechukwu, the Nigerian socialite lost his first attempt at securing political office after failing to clinch the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Cubana Chief Priest lost to Canice Moore Nwachukwu, the incumbent lawmaker currently serving a second term.

Following the loss, Seyi, son of President Bola Tinubu, encouraged the socialite not to lose hope.

In an Instagram story, the president’s son told Cubana to keep his head up because “we know what you are capable of achieving”.

“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war,” Seyi wrote.

Cubana formally declared his political ambition in late April 2026 after purchasing the APC’s expression of interest and nomination forms.

He was a former aide to Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo. However, during a meeting with the aspirants on Thursday, the governor failed to declare favourites but urged them to go to the field and test their popularity.

Cubana has been vocal about his support for the current government and the ruling party.

The socialite was appointed as the Imo director of City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-oriented support group for Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
