Park Yoo Chun's former agency disputes claims legal battle has ended

Park Yoo Chun's Japanese agency and legal representative recently stated that all legal disputes involving his exclusive contract and taxes had been resolved, but his former agency has disputed those claims.

On July 11, his former agency, Logbook, released a statement disputing those claims. "The exclusive contract dispute with Park Yoo Chun has not ended," the agency stated. "The ruling in the contractual penalty lawsuit was not a judgment on the validity of the exclusive contract or the ownership of the exclusive management rights. It was a decision that the dispute must be resolved through an arbitration process under the arbitration clause in the contract."

The agency emphasized that the legal battle is far from over. "The court's decision that it must be resolved through arbitration does not mean the dispute is over; it merely determined the procedure and jurisdiction to resolve the dispute," it added. "The dispute over the exclusive management rights is still ongoing, and the legal dispute over his alleged unauthorized departure has also not been concluded."

Logbook warned of further legal action, including potential claims for defamation and business obstruction. The agency also stated it plans to file for disciplinary proceedings with the Korean Bar Association against Park Yoo Chun's legal representative for distributing what it described as false information in a press release.

Previously, on July 1, his Japanese agency announced that his legal proceedings in South Korea were over. "All of Park Yoo Chun's long-standing lawsuits in South Korea have been concluded. Park Yoo Chun has submitted an installment payment plan to the National Tax Service of South Korea and is faithfully making payments according to the agreed plan," the agency claimed. "Currently, Park Yoo Chun's name has also been removed from the list of high-value tax delinquents."

Park Yoo Chun's legal representative had echoed these claims, stating, "The lawsuit filed by his former agency claiming damages for breach of exclusive contract obligations has been concluded with a final dismissal ruling." The representative added, "The related criminal cases have also been closed with a decision not to refer the cases for prosecution, and cases filed by another former agency were amicably resolved after both sides fulfilled their settlement agreements."

However, Logbook's immediate response suggests the legal dispute between the two sides is far from over.
