OMEGA X member Hwichan has received a non-indictment ruling in connection with allegations of forced indecent assault involving his former agency’s CEO.

On December 17th KST, his current agency IPQ stated, “Regarding the allegation that Hwichan forcibly molested former SPIRE Entertainment CEO Kang, the case has been concluded with a ‘no charges due to insufficient evidence’ decision.”

Previously, SPIRE Entertainment held a press conference on March 19 last year, claiming that “on July 10, 2022, while CEO Kang was comforting Hwichan ahead of his military enlistment, an incident of forced indecent assault occurred.”

At the time, SPIRE presented CCTV footage as evidence; however, the material had been partially edited. During the police investigation and inquiry process, the original, unedited footage was never submitted.

As a result, the prosecution issued a non-indictment decision for Hwichan on the 11th. His agency commented, “Over the past one year and ten months, Hwichan, the other members, and their families have all suffered damage that is difficult to recover from.”

They added, “Even after the non-indictment ruling, former CEO Kang has continued to file objections and escalate the matter. Our company will continue to pursue legal action to protect the artist’s reputation and rights.”

Concluding the statement, the agency emphasized, “We clearly state that Hwichan committed no criminal act,” and urged the public to “refrain from unverified claims, speculative reporting, and the spread of false information.”
