BTS turned Mexico City into a frenzy after appearing on the balcony of Mexico’s presidential palace to greet fans directly.

On May 6 local time, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum officially invited BTS to the National Palace for a meeting ahead of the group’s upcoming concerts in the country.

Following the meeting, members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook stepped onto the palace balcony overlooking Zócalo, where thousands of fans had gathered below.

Photos from the scene showed the seven members standing side by side in different suit styles, smiling brightly and waving warmly to fans.

At one point, J-Hope stretched both arms wide open to energize the crowd, while several members leaned over the railing to make eye contact with fans. RM and V greeted the audience with calm smiles, while Jin and Jungkook leaned forward enthusiastically in response to the loud cheers.

Other moments captured the members making heart gestures and clapping as they interacted with the crowd in their own unique ways. The elegant chandeliers visible inside the palace added a grand atmosphere to the event.

Using microphones, the members also greeted fans in simple Spanish phrases, saying, “We love you,” “Mexico is the best,” and “See you again,” drawing explosive reactions from the audience.

The visit comes ahead of BTS’s upcoming concerts in Mexico beginning May 7. The group is scheduled to perform three shows on May 7, 9, and 10, all of which sold out immediately upon ticket release.

This marks BTS’s first visit to Mexico in approximately nine years since 2017, with local reports already anticipating a significant economic impact from the group’s return.
