BTS’s V responds directly to military service “privacy exposure” debate, expresses support for former comrade

BTS member V has publicly shown support for a former military comrade, highlighting their warm friendship while directly addressing concerns over the sharing of personal military stories.

A content creator recently released a series of videos recounting their experience training alongside V at the Army training center. The videos included behind-the-scenes anecdotes such as visiting a church together on Christmas, playing games during training, and the selection process for elite trainees, offering a glimpse into their time in military service.

V personally commented on the videos, expressing surprise and fondness at the memories being revisited. “Long time no see. Your memory is amazing,” he wrote, a message that quickly drew attention from fans.

However, as more videos were uploaded, some fans raised concerns that personal details from military service were being disclosed too freely. In response, the creator said they only intended to show that “V is a good person,” and suggested they might stop uploading further content.

V responded again, playfully rejecting the idea of stopping. “Why stop? Share more. I find it fun,” he wrote, adding humorously that he himself “doesn’t really remember it well.”

The discussion continued until V addressed the situation more fully on June 3 through a longer comment. He clarified that he was enjoying the videos and appreciated the positive intent behind them, while also acknowledging that fans’ concerns were understandable.

“There seem to be people who are worried, but I am really enjoying the videos,” he wrote. “I hope people don’t get too emotionally affected by every reaction.” He also noted that because the content was being released in short segments, misunderstandings could naturally arise.

Reflecting on his time in service, V added that the creator had been “the most outstanding in the squad,” and described their shared military memories as “genuinely enjoyable.”

He also pointed out that those who were not present at the time might find it difficult to fully understand the context and emotions behind those experiences. In a lighthearted closing remark, V joked, “I’m worried you might be stressed out and doing bench presses right now because of all this,” adding, “I don’t remember your dream, but judging by your physique, you must have wanted to be a bodybuilder. Fighting!”

V enlisted in December 2023 and served in the Special Duty Military Police unit under the Army’s II Corps. He was discharged last month.
