21st Livestock Census 2024 for Kohima launched

Kohima, November 1: The 21st Livestock Census 2024 for Kohima district was launched today at CVO Conference Hall, Kohima.

It was officially launched by Chief Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Officer Kohima, Dr. Wopanthung Ezung in the presence of the department officials and census personnel.

The Livestock Census 2024 aims at enhancing livestock management in the state and the district in particular.

The Census, which is conducted every five years to collect vital data on various livestock involving trained supervisors and enumerators visiting every household in the district.

District Nodal Officer (DNO) Dr. Ketholenuo Metha chaired the launching programme, which concluded with the distribution of census logistics to the census personnel.

This census process will continue over the next few months, with strong community engagement.
