2 fraudsters arrested

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2: Taking cognizance of the reports made in various social media and local news channels, Dimapur Police summoned two individuals namely – Sungty Tungoe alias Awala and Chipeno Murry to cause enquiry and ascertain the facts.

According to a press release issued by Dy. Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO, during the course of enquiry, it was admitted by the duo that they had given out loans to several individuals in lieu of certain security amount and had executed Deed of Agreement on Government stamp papers in the name of 4 unregistered societies namely – Limuqho Society, Royal Society, Niquomi Society and Rural Society.

On further enquiry, it was ascertained that these 4 societies were non-existent and the duo had fraudulently executed the Deed of Agreement and several victims were yet to receive the loan amount after depositing the security amount.

Accordingly, a case has been registered under the appropriate section of law and the two arrested individual are under police custody for further investigation.

The Dimapur Police further appealed to the victim(s) of the scam to come forward and report at West Police Station, Dimapur.
