He’s spent two years as one of the Senate’s loudest defenders of Israel, and now he’s named the single move that would make him quit his own party. He told Sean Hannity there’s one line that, if his party crosses it, he’s gone.

John Fetterman told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday night that a single change to the Democratic platform would force him out of the party for good.

The Pennsylvania senator has backed Israel without hesitation since the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023, and he’s broken with fellow Democrats on votes and messaging since Trump returned to office. Republicans have reportedly hoped to flip him, and he’s waved off the idea of switching sides.

His comments came as Hannity pressed him on the wave of progressive and democratic socialist candidates ousting long-serving incumbents in Colorado and New York, many running in part on opposition to U.S. support for Israel’s war in Gaza. Fetterman said what the new candidates share is a “contempt for Israel” he called “essentially” anti-Semitism, and warned he’s “deeply alarmed by the way the Democratic Party is going after Israel.”
