18 Months After Kurt Cobain Died, Courtney Love Had Her Lawyer Ask Seattle’s Police Chief to Give Her the Whole Investigation File and Destroy Every Copy

Roughly a year and a half after Kurt Cobain’s death, Courtney Love reportedly made an unusual request of Seattle police: she wanted the entire investigation file into her husband’s death handed over to her — and every copy destroyed.
The ask came 18 months after Cobain died. Through her lawyer, Love reportedly requested that Seattle’s police chief turn over the whole investigation file and destroy every remaining copy.
A detective who worked the case called the request outrageous, and police refused it.
Love has never doubted the suicide ruling. But she wanted the file on her husband’s death gone for good.
