VICE-PRESIDENT Sara Duterte-Carpio on Monday said her office has reached millions of Filipinos through various social programs over the last three years, noting that the agency continued to function despite political challenges.

In a video statement, Ms. Duterte outlined the reach of the Office of the Vice-President’s (OVP) initiatives from 2022 to 2025, including providing transportation to 2.9 million commuters through a free bus ride program and distributing educational and dental kits to 603,751 students.

She described the compiled data as a “legacy of service” that stands “firm above the noise of politics.”

“The operation of our programs became more challenging due to baseless criticism and systematic attacks against us, but we remained firm,” she said.

According to her, the OVP provided medical assistance to 271,631 individuals and funeral support to 64,234 families. Its disaster operations reached over 535,000 families, while 231,604 beneficiaries received aid through food trucks and a rice distribution program.

On economic initiatives, she said the OVP’s livelihood program provided capital to 39 groups and more than 4,400 entrepreneurs. She also cited an environmental milestone, with 1.09 million trees planted over three years.

“These numbers are proof of lives changed and a future strengthened by our cooperation,” she said.
