Two overseas offices in La Réunion and French Polynesia exist but are reserved strictly for candidates of French nationality and are therefore not included in the foreigner list.

How Foreigners Can Apply to the French Foreign Legion

According to the Legion's official recruitment page, despite recruitment being open 24/7, candidates are invited to report to the Posts and Recruitment Centers from 08:00 a.m. to streamline processing.

Two centres operate without any time restrictions. The Foreign Legion Northern Pre-selection Center, located at Fort de Nogent in Fontenay-sous-Bois near Paris, accepts walk-ins 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The South Pre-selection and Selection and Incorporation Center in Aubagne also maintains the same round-the-clock schedule.

For those unable to visit in person, the Legion runs a dedicated digital unit called the Cellule numérique Paris, based also at Fort de Nogent.
