OxygenOS and Realme UI may be consolidated to ColorOS - report

A new report indicates that the OnePlus OxygenOS and RealmeUI, may soon be replaced with OPPO’s ColorOS. All 3 brands of OnePlus, Realme and OPPO actually belong to BBK Electronics and the move is to reduce costs for software development and support. While OnePlus has already dropped OxygenOS in China, this move is expected to be for everyone else globally.

More details and uncertain futures?

The report comes from Smartprice, who are usually quite accurate about such leaks. However, industry watchers are taking this as a signal that OnePlus may also eventually cede their share of the market to OPPO. This however, is not the first time that people have said it might be the end for OnePlus which OnePlus then refuted. So, we should take this report and such unconfirmed rumours with a grain of salt.

If it does happen, we’ll definitely miss the Silent toggle slider OnePlus devices are known for, but what do you think? Is it a sign that OnePlus will stop making flagship killers? Share your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave.com
