The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a yellow warning for dangerously hot weather across all of Bulgaria on Monday, June 29, as another day of intense summer heat is expected to grip the country.

According to the forecast, daytime temperatures in the lowland areas will generally range between 33°C and 38°C, with conditions remaining hot under mostly clear skies. Sofia is expected to see highs of around 34°C.

The warning follows Sunday's heat alerts, when a yellow code was in effect for 14 regions: Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, and Yambol.

Forecasters expect Monday to remain predominantly sunny throughout the country. During the afternoon, limited cumulus cloud development is possible over the mountainous areas and parts of Eastern Bulgaria, but significant rainfall is not anticipated.

A light to moderate east-northeast wind will develop across eastern parts of the country, offering only limited relief from the heat. "A yellow code for dangerously hot weather has been declared throughout Bulgaria," NIMH warned, urging residents to take precautions during the hottest hours of the day.
