Heavy snowfall has transformed the Kashmir Valley into a winter wonderland, officials said, with the ski resort of Gulmarg and higher-altitude areas in Kupwara, Baramulla, and Shopian blanketed in fresh snow. The white cover has turned roads, fields, and rooftops into icy spectacles, drawing awe from residents and visitors alike. On Thursday, many parts of the Valley plains, including Srinagar, were lashed by rain and strong winds, which uprooted trees at multiple locations and prompted precautionary power shutdowns.
