A NEET re-exam candidate from Karnataka has alleged a serious evaluation error, claiming an OMR answer sheet mismatch cost her 679 marks and jeopardised her chances of securing a medical seat. The student alleges that while she expected to score 668 marks, the National Testing Agency (NTA) awarded her minus 11 instead.
She has also questioned the credibility of the evaluation process, claiming the official OMR record contains answers she never marked and even shows her answering 41 questions within a single minute, an anomaly she says is impossible.
OMR MISMATCH ALLEGED
Bindushree Jagadish Pawar, a student from Hangal taluk in Haveri district, alleged that the OMR answer sheet made available by the National Testing Agency (NTA) does not match the one she had after the examination. According to her, she should have secured 668 marks in the NEET re-examination but was instead awarded minus11 marks.
She further claimed that the NTA's OMR data shows she answered 41 questions within a single minute, something she says is impossible and indicative of a serious discrepancy in the evaluation process.
NO RESPONSE FROM NTA
Bindushree said she repeatedly contacted the NTA helpline seeking clarification and correction but has not received any response.
The allegations have once again raised questions over the transparency of the NEET evaluation process and the effectiveness of the grievance redressal mechanism. The NTA has not yet responded to the student's claims.
