Bihar woman alleges sexual assault after threats to leak bathing videos, 2 booked

A woman in Bihar's Banka district has accused two men of sexually assaulting her after threatening to circulate her bathing photos and videos. Police have registered an FIR, sent her for medical examination and begun forensic and field inquiries.

A woman in Bihar's Banka district has alleged that two men sexually assaulted her after threatening to circulate photographs and videos of her bathing on social media, police said.

Based on her complaint, police registered an FIR against two named accused and launched an investigation. A police team led by SDPO Amar Vishwas visited the alleged crime scene on Tuesday, while a forensic team from Bhagalpur collected samples from the spot.

The accused have been identified as Shivam Sharma and Rahul Sharma, residents of Sotichak village.

According to the FIR, the woman alleged that the two men had sexual relations with her between February 11 and August 8, 2026, after threatening to make public photographs of her taken while she was bathing.

Distressed over the alleged incidents, the woman approached Shambhuganj police station on Monday evening and submitted a written complaint seeking action.

FORENSIC TEAM COLLECTS SAMPLES FROM SPOT

Police inspected the alleged crime scene on Tuesday following the complaint. The forensic team from Bhagalpur collected various samples from the location, which will be sent to a laboratory for examination.

Officials said the findings of the forensic examination would help determine the nature of the scientific evidence available in the case.

Before the police team reached the village, the male members of the two accused men's families had left their homes. Police also questioned other residents of the village.

Searches are being conducted at possible locations to trace and arrest the two accused, police said.

SDPO Amar Vishwas said the woman had been sent for a medical examination. Police are investigating the allegations made in the FIR and are also looking into other possible aspects, including an alleged romantic relationship and a land dispute.

Further legal action will be taken after the medical and forensic reports are received and the evidence is assessed, police said.
