Out on bail in murder case, Gujarat man kills another over rent dispute

A man serving a life sentence in a murder case has committed another murder after being released on bail in Ahmedabad. The accused was arrested along with his brother in connection with the killing, while two other accused remain absconding.

According to police, Hitesh Solanki was already serving a life sentence for the murder of a man named Mitesh, whom he was convicted of killing by throwing him from a terrace.

After being released on bail, Solanki became involved in another murder, along with his brothers. Police said the group fatally attacked a 25-year-old man, Ajit Singh, during a dispute over the possession and rent of a house in Ahmedabad.

The incident took place on the night of August 31. According to the police, Hitesh, along with his brothers Ravi Solanki, Akshay Solanki and Dharmesh Solanki, arrived at the house armed with swords and iron rods and attacked Singh.

Singh sustained serious injuries to his forehead and face in the assault. He was taken to a hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, police registered a murder case and arrested Hitesh and his brother Ravi. Akshay and Dharmesh are still on the run.

Police said a long-standing dispute had been ongoing over the possession of the house where Singh lived and the payment of rent. The dispute escalated into the fatal attack.

After the murder, Hitesh and Ravi planned to flee Ahmedabad. However, the Crime Branch traced and arrested them before they could leave the city. Police teams are conducting searches to locate the two absconding accused.

Police also confirmed that Hitesh had previously been convicted in a murder case and sentenced to life imprisonment for killing Mitesh by throwing him from a terrace.
