CAT 2026 registration begins today for MBA, management programme admission

The application for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 will open today, August 3 at 10 am. CAT, held for admission to management programmes including MBA, will this year be conducted by IIM Indore. The registration for CAT 2026 will close on September 15 at 5 pm. Interested candidates can apply at iimcat.ac.in. CAT 2026 will be held on November 29.

The CAT Convener, Professor Aditya Billore of IIM Indore has urged the test takers to register well in advance to have a hassle-free registration process and to avoid last-minute hassle.

CAT 2026 will be conducted in approximately 170 cities. Candidates will be given the option to choose five preferred cities.

The eligibility criteria to apply for CAT include a degree in graduation from a recognised university or institute with 50 per cent marks or equivalent. However, there exists relaxations for the reserved category students.

CAT 2026 EXAM PATTERN, RESULT DATE

CAT will be held for 120 minutes. The test will comprise three sections – section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and section III: Quantitative Ability.

Candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes to answer questions in each section, and they will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.

The CAT results are likely to be declared by the first week of January, 2027. The CAT 2026 score is valid only till December 31, 2027 and will, accordingly, be accessible on the website.
