Six people were killed in the early hours of Saturday in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district, where the accused, identified as 28-year-old Raj Kumar, is suspected of murdering his wife, his two children, a minor girl who had filed a POCSO case against him, the girl’s mother, and her grandmother. Police believe the killings were driven by revenge linked to the earlier Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case.
According to preliminary investigations, Raj Kumar had been arrested in connection with the POCSO complaint filed by the minor girl and was later released on bail. Investigators are examining whether resentment over the case motivated the multiple murders.
Police sources allege that the minor girl was first taken to an agricultural field, where she was sexually assaulted and murdered. The other five victims were subsequently killed. These details are based on the ongoing probe and are yet to be fully substantiated.
CCTV footage has also surfaced showing the girl being forcefully taken by the accused.
Senior police officers have reached the spot and are personally supervising the investigation. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the crime scene, and the bodies have been shifted for post-mortem. Officers are working to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
The entire village remains tense following the gruesome incident. Authorities have appealed for calm while assuring that the case is being thoroughly investigated.
The police continue to gather evidence and question locals.
