One injured as gunshots fired in central Delhi over personal enmity

One person was injured in a firing incident reported in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area in the early hours of Friday. Police say multiple rounds were fired in which a man, identified as Rohit, suffered a gunshot and was hositalised, adding that it might be a case of personal enmity between the survivor and the suspect who is on the run.
The firing incident was reported at Faiz Road in Karol Bagh between 3 am and 4 am on Friday. The scene of the incident is near the Anand Parbat area where Rohit lives with his family, they said.
Rohit, a resident of Than Singh Nagar in Anand Parbat, sustained a bullet injury and was immediately shifted to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment.
Hospital authorities have marked the case as medically sensitive, and he remains under medical supervision.
Police teams, including the local crime unit and forensic experts, reached the spot soon after receiving information.
Initial investigation indicates that the firing may have occurred due to personal enmity between the victim and the suspected assailant, who is presently absconding. A case of attempt to murder has been registered.
During inspection of the crime scene, forensic officials recovered two empty cartridges and one live round, suggesting that at least three shots were fired.
CCTV footage from nearby areas and eyewitness statements are being analysed, while multiple police teams have been deployed to trace and apprehend the accused.
Investigation is underway from all possible angles, police said.
