A daily wage worker in Telangana was killed by his wife, who attacked him with a machete during a dispute over cooking chicken curry.

A woman in Telangana’s Kamareddy hacked her husband to death by slashing his neck following a dispute over cooking chicken curry, police said.

The victim, Kodanda Shivaji, a daily wage labourer, had asked his wife to prepare chicken curry. When she did not, an argument broke out between the couple, reportedly over their living conditions.

As the dispute escalated, the wife, Lakshmi, attacked him with a machete, inflicting a fatal injury to his neck, police said. Shivaji died on the spot.

Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.

The couple was living in a rented house and had two young daughters, aged two and one. They were earning their livelihood through daily wage work.

Telangana Police said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
