The four papers are:
- Paper 1: Accounting
- Paper 2: Business Laws

- Paper 4: Business Economics
The examination follows a combination of subjective and objective assessment. Papers 1 and 2 are descriptive in nature, while Papers 3 and 4 comprise objective-type questions.
Candidates should also take note of the negative marking provision. ICAI deducts 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer in the objective-type papers, namely Papers 3 and 4. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
CA FOUNDATION RESULT: PASSING CRITERIA
To qualify for the CA Foundation examination, candidates must secure at least 40 per cent marks in each of the four papers and a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent across all four papers.

The next CA Foundation examination will be conducted on January 3, 5, 7 and 9, 2027.
