Bailey, pulley bridges to rescue: Nepal Army races to restore connectivity in Nuwakot

Following severe devastation caused by the furious Batkochi and Trishuli rivers, villages and towns disconnected for more than ten days are receiving vital relief. To aid stranded residents and dispatch essential supplies, the Nepalese army, alongside local volunteers, has deployed conventional ropeway and pulley cable bridges across severed landscape points. In Nuwakot's Debighat, a specialized engineering unit is actively constructing Bailey bridges to reconnect critical road networks from Kathmandu towards upstream areas. With bulk relief and helicopter operations facing logistical hurdles in narrow air passages, restoring ground connectivity remains an uphill yet crucial task as water levels recede and rebuilding efforts begin.
