A woman passenger was seen lashing out at IndiGo ground staff after her flight was cancelled, screaming at employees as they tried to manage the situation.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with several accounts claiming that the altercation took place at Bhubaneswar Airport.
Amid the chaos, she climbed onto a luggage belt and threw papers and documents kept on an IndiGo ground staff employee’s desk. The staff attempted to calm her down, but she continued screaming and misbehaving with them.
As the incident unfolded, one of the passengers was heard saying about the woman, “Inka bachcha bimaar hai (Her child is unwell)."
Other passengers also intervened and offered her water in an attempt to pacify her, but she refused to listen.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel eventually had to intervene and told her, “Aap airport property ko damage kar rahe ho. Dobaara wahaan nahi jaana (You are damaging airport property. Do not go there again)."

The incident came amid claims that passengers at Bhubaneswar Airport were left waiting after an IndiGo flight was cancelled several hours after its scheduled departure time.
Social media accounts alleged that passengers claimed they were not informed about the cancellation in a timely manner and that many were still waiting at the airport without clear communication or adequate assistance from the airline.
The woman's behaviour, however, sparked backlash, with many stressing that airport staff are often not responsible for flight cancellations or operational disruptions.
While one comment called for strict action by the CISF and even suggested that such passengers be banned from air travel, another urged passengers to “be angry at the situation, not at the people doing their job."
Others emphasised that staff “deserve to be treated with respect” and that passengers should remain calm and maintain basic decency even when faced with frustrating disruptions.
IndiGo is yet to react to the incident.
